In addition to your name and contact information, we will also collect your driver's license number and the jurisdiction in which you are registered, credit card or other payment information and other identifying information. We may also collect information such as your driving record from regulatory bodies where you live, or from third parties. GPS is a network of satellites that allows us to determine the location (latitude and longitude) of Your Car vehicles during your reservation. Additionally, Your Car vehicles may also have an on-board device that may monitor the state of the vehicle from moment to moment, including its location during your reservation. This information is transmitted to Your Car and stored. Your Car uses this information for a variety of important purposes. For example, we monitor or store vehicle or GPS data to help you find a car you have reserved, to assist with roadside assistance, to ensure that a car is available at the place and time you have reserved, and to locate lost or stolen vehicles.
Your Car vehicles may be equipped with telematics data tracking technology. The use of vehicle telematics is becoming increasingly common in the automotive sector and it enables companies like YourCar to better understand how vehicles are being used, ultimately leading to better service availability for members. The telematics data tracking technology allows us to monitor driver behaviour of members, which encourages responsible and safe driving and will assist reducing fleet and operational costs. This is extremely useful if vehicles are stolen or involved in an accident, as the vehicles can be recovered swiftly, accidents can be prevented and insurance claims settled based on facts. In addition, at an anonymous and aggregated level, insight can be obtained about vehicle usage overall.
Refer a Friend. If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about Your Car, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address or telephone number. We may send your friend one or more messages inviting your friend to join Your Car. Your Car stores this information for the sole purpose of sending these communications and tracking the success of our referral program. Third party service providers maintain servers for Your Car which can be located in any location worldwide. Please note that the laws governing the processing of personal information in different locations may differ. By joining Your Car and using our services, you consent to the transfer of your personal and financial information outside of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for the purposes described in this privacy policy.

Except as described in this privacy policy, Your Car will not share your personal information with third parties outside the YourCar unless it is necessary to provide the Your Car service, fulfil a transaction you have requested, or in other circumstances with your consent. We do however disclose your personal information within the YourCar affiliated group and to contractors, advisors, consultants and service providers acting on our behalf or under our instructions, including for purposes relating to the operation, maintenance, administration, improvement, and oversight of our services, Sites and advertising services, or to fulfil your requests for information or service. If you apply for Your Car membership, some of the information you supply must necessarily be shared with regulatory bodies and/or service providers we utilise to obtain your driving record and or other personal information. In addition, if you are associated or affiliated with another, primary account (for example, if you are an associate member or affiliated with a business's or organisation's account), the business or organisation will generally have access to certain information regarding your account or use of our services.

We may disclose your personal information in connection with a corporate transaction, proceeding, or reorganisation involving the business activities for which the information is maintained. In the event that ownership of Your Car or its business was to change as a result of a merger, acquisition or transfer to another company, your personal information may be transferred.

Your Car may use personal information to present offers to you on our behalf and on behalf of business partners, but we do not share information that personally identifies you with those parties for their independent marketing purposes. If you do not want us to send you promotional emails, please contact us at privacy@yourcar.com.hk to have your records amended to reflect this.

Your Car may also use third party ad network providers and other service providers to help present customised content and offers across various platforms, including the Internet or our Sites. Our website includes social media features, such as the Facebook Like button and widgets, such as the Share This button or interactive mini-programs that run on our Sites. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Sites, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Sites. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

Our Sites includes links to other websites or mobile applications whose privacy practices may differ from those of Your Car. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any website you visit or mobile application that you use.

Your Car is committed to providing you with reasonable and practical access to your information to allow you the opportunity to identify inaccuracies. If you are a member of Your Car, you can review and correct personal information through your personal online account area. If you would like to access, delete and/or correct other personal information held by Your Car, please contact us in one of the ways provided below and we will respond to your request within 30 days. If Your Car is informed of any inaccuracy we will make the appropriate corrections when commercially practicable. According to the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have the rights (i) to request access to your personal data information retained by us or make correction thereof; (ii) to ascertain Your Car's policies and practices in relation to personal data; and (iii) to be informed of the kind of personal data held by Your Car. If you wish to do so, please write to us at privacy@yourcar.com.hk (we will charge a reasonable fee for such information requests and require you to prove your identity with 2 pieces of approved identification).

Please contact us if you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you with services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may also retain and use your information in order to make promotional offers to you as described under "advertising and personalised content" above, unless you have opted out of receiving such communications.

Your Car has established safeguards, such as SSL encryption, to help prevent unauthorised access to or misuse of your personal information, but cannot guarantee that your personal information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this privacy policy (for example, as a result of unauthorised acts by third parties that violate applicable law or the policies of Your Car and its affiliated providers). We use a password to help verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to any of your personal information. It is your responsibility to safeguard your password, which you should never disclose to a third party. If you contact us by phone, we will ask you to verify certain information related to your account before providing any access to personal information.

From time to time, we may need to move technology platform and related information systems infrastructure and software, which we will do in accordance with applicable laws.

We may change this privacy policy from time to time, so it is advisable to review it frequently. Changes to this privacy policy will be announced on our website or through similar means and all amended terms shall take effect no less than seven (7) days after announcement.

YourCar vehicles may be equipped with dashboard cameras. Dashboard camera systems record video and audio data from both the exterior and interior of the vehicle. In the case of accidents and incidents, the visual and audio recording can be used by us and our insurers to quickly and appropriately process insurance claims. This data can also assist law enforcement agencies to ensure that drivers are nor found responsible for the actions committed by any other third parties.
